Rare 4th–6th Century Buddha Statue Discovered Near Kadri Temple, Mangaluru
During excavations at Kadri, Mangaluru, archaeologists unearthed a damaged 4th–6th century Buddha statue—approximately 68 cm tall in Padmasana pose—submerged in a temple pond. The head and right hand were missing. Three nearby rock-cut caves, likely ancient dwellings, underscore the site’s historical significance .
